My wishes:

In playback mode, holding the EC buttons show detailed image information and a histogram. This would save time having to use the DISP button to cycle though all those screens. I just need to quickly validate exposure settings and this would make it quick, I have a Fuji ultra-zoom that does that.

Allow reset values to be specified for parameters reset at power-off. I always have the camera reset EC, WB and ISO on shutdown, it helps me not make mistakes the next day. One step further would be to simply be able to specify the reset value, as to set a preferred ISO or flash-mode.

Provide metering-line options to control the behavior of multi-segment metering (average, preserve-highlights, maximize-shadow-details).

+1 for the status display illumination.
+1 for rotating on playback... otherwise when shooting from a tripod it is awkward to check images.

I personally have 3 things I wish my K-5 could do:
Status screen display modified:

1. Displays the status screen
2. Does not displays the status screen

add point 3. turn status screen off automatically in 3 or 10 sec

Ability for the camera to count past 9999. So instead of having to have 4 configurable characters at the front of the file name how about we could only have 3, or 2, or 1, or none?

I use fourth configurable character as first number: K5_0XXXX, then K5_1XXXX, K5_2XXXX and so on. Of course you have to manually change thet custom prefix every 10000 shots.

What about an option to swap the functionalities of the AF button and the RAW/Fx button? Then we would have for example (depending on configuration) the AF button by the lens like on the D7000 and the electronic level at the rear of the camera. I would use that.

The guide screen and status screen aren't the same thing. Please be clearer what you mean.

I would like a mode where the shutter release took a still picture when LV is off, or a movie when LV is on. Switching the dial between modes is very annoying when you are going back and forth between taking stills and movies.

There are a couple of ways this could be implemented:

1) new custom option: "shutter release in live view records movie" -- this would be effective in any exposure mode.

2) new custom button function: Allow the green button to be used as a "movie record" button in live view mode.

I don't see how the first suggestion would make sense, to be honest. What purpose would live-view have if you'd have that option turned on?

Yes...I've just given an example of settings of guide screen. I've changed already my post.

Need "turning status screen off automatically".

Some suggestions
I found setting the white balance a little tricky the first time since I had the auto focus point set to SEL so when I used the 4 way controller (for WB) it moved the focus point. Now that I know how it works, it should be easy, but a suggestion would be to add WB to the Control Panel.

The Control Panel is great! I wonder if there could be an option to let the user pick 2 or 3 things that could be added to the Control panel.

That is simply not possible with the current PRIME II processor.
