AC adapter for the K-5

I plan on doing some winter star shots with my new K-5 this coming week. Does anybody know if the K20 AC adapter will work with the K-5?

K10D and K-7 both use D-AC50 AC adapter. So I guess K20D and K-5 use the same, but to be sure you can check if it is listed as an accessory in the K-5 manual.

[langtitle=da]AC Adapter for K-5[/langtitle]

My manual says K-AC50 for the K-5

For K20D it's D-AC50

For K-7 it's K-AC50U

It would be nicer if one adapter would fit more cameras. I own a K20D and a K-5. The need two different adapters :-(

Regards
Jens

Wasn't there a DC adapter available?

That doesn't sound right.

I thought the K10D and K20D use the same, and the K-7 and K-5 use the same?

If you mean an adapter that doesn't rely upon an AC power source, no... Pentax doesn't make one.

However, if you are up to the minor challenge, check out this thread for a link to a DIY project: K5 DIY AC power adapter: Pentax SLR Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review

I plan on building one eventually.

That DIY link is much simpler than the device that I ended up having made for DC to DC.
