Available light shooting w/k-5 & 31/1.8

I like nothing more than shooting in available light. It was always a fight with my K10d, balancing ISO and aperture and pushing shutter speed to move the exposure to the right of the histogram, often resulting in motion blur.

K-5 Seems to solve all that! These were shot at iso 6400, probably -1/3 ev on the exposure as well as I had to lighten them up a little in post. This is absolutely the body I have been waiting for from Pentax. It plays really nicely with the 31mm as well, these were all shot around f2 I think. Shake reduction seems improved over the K10d as well, making this a REAL killer in low light situations, imho.

At the end of the day I just love the results coming from the camera, that's all there is to it.

Oh boy, you've done it, now all K-5 droolers who don't have the 31 will become K-5 + 31 droolers....

I will be interesting to see what owners of the 50mm f/1.2 lenses are able to come up with.

Yup, I was touring around Ottawa for the evening while on a business trip. I'm not very good at the urban / street photography side of things...

Its the first lens i'm going to put on the K-5 when it arrives Monday

Lovely Doggie too!!! Awwww!!!

I bought a Sigma 30mm/1.4 today. It's sharp as f**k ( except edges wide open where it doesn't matter ) - Can't wait to mount that on a K-5

I have one. And also it will be the first lens I attached to my K-5 when it eventually arrives.

I used to live in Ottawa ... Bank Street: very famous stretch. Looks just like when I left .... construction!

I am always amazed to see such nicely rendered high ISO images taken with the K5.
