To answer the OP ... B&H gave me a new body. Mine has a blotch on the sensor (I don't know if it was on-top of or under the IR filter, where in the latter case if could not be cleaned) . As they don't do cleanings, have a liberal 15-day return policy, and I had another issue, they grabbed a K-5 out of stock and swapped the bodies. The other issue was my electronic level was off by about 3 degrees.

Still love this camera body; it's given me renewed joy in shooting. It's reminded me of how good some of my lenses are. And it's everything I wished the K10D was in low EV available light shooting when I bought that over 3 years ago.
