I will I am still looking for the SR swtich on back of the camera (where it was on the K20D) , thanks.

Vitor - the Topaz Denoise intergrates well with CS4. Download the 30 day trial , it's fully functinal. You can search the in processing forum for other products , everyone has their preference for what it's worth I like the Topaz Denoise. (it's like camera bodies - there are a lot of good ones). I like that shot BTW.
I already did that Dave. One more tool (filter) in my CS4. It is as you refer. The result is evident. Now it’s a matter of training. Thank you very much. The next step will be the “mirror up process” testing’s. I’m learning a lot.
Regards, Vitor

Having gone through similar experience, here are my observations:

1. Avoid underexposure!!! as it raises noise significantly, even in the K5.
2. Turn off in-camera noise reduction, which sometimes produces smeared results.
3. Evaluate the RAW image, rather than the JPEG. I have images showing a large discrepancy between the two, with the camera-produced JPEG on occasions showing something quite different from what is actually in the RAW. Yes, the RAW may show more noise than the JPEG, but it is better to remove it during post processing.

I find that if I follow the above, high ISO images can come out remarkably clean.

Bill
2. Turn off in-camera noise reduction, which sometimes produces smeared results.

One more step. Thank you

Some fine shots in the last few pages. But this one really caught my eye!

One from this weekend just gone, in one of the many local parks around where I live.

Rupert - your squirrel posts are hilarious. I really enjoy them. All the squirrels around here are extremely skittish. And much thinner.
I am glad you like my Squirrels......not everyone is a Squirrel fan.....something Otis just doesn't understand?
I am sorry about this, I posted a Squirrel yesterday as I was ordered, but posted the wrong one. Otis said no one wanted to see a fat Girly Squirrel when he was available for posting.....my apologies to Otis.

Handsome Devil Otis!

I agree, that shot has a 3D look to it and the clarity is fantastic....besides just being a great shot! We all strive for those.....sometimes we get them....mostly we don't!

Love the 7 Frames/sec

DK swoops the landing zone at Skydive Elsinore, CA
Photo built in PE8, exposure tweaked to emphasize color.
Unfortunately shot had to be taken slightly towards the morning sun so DK was deep in shadows.
He really likes it tho.

Thank you for bringing back memories of one of my most favorite places on this earth.

I did a hike a couple of days ago in The Narrows at Zion Nat'l Park. I shot mostly with my 645D but I also took my K-5 as a backup for a few handhelds. Here is a stitch frame cropped essentially square from two vertical K-5 files, shot handheld.

That's not true. I always underexpose by 1 EV. You can gain 5 EV without noise problems.
That's my typical exposure as well. I won't get into an argument about whether it works well or not here but some of my best photos have come from under-exposed (purposely) shots.

Probably not an example of 'the best' but still pretty fair IMO.
