Did it happen to someone else as well?
I had my K-5 camera in Av mode f2.0, Auto ISO, no flash, matrix metering, don't remember all the settings and pressed the shutter few times, with no special artistic or technical intention in mind. Just enjoying the shutter sound I guess.
Later I looked at the files and 2 pictures came out with ISO 70 in EXIF. FW version was 1.01.
Have I discovered a bug? But the picture was OK, metering wise.

What software are you using to view the exif info?
Is this what is shown on the camera's info screen? That would be very odd.

Interesting. I saw ISO 70 being displayed in the viewfinder when I was toying around with my camera the other day but I didn't think much about it. I haven't checked the exif info though so I can't say for sure if it just was a display error. I also use the 1.0.1 firmware.

The first pictues I did with ISO70 are too ugly to share (I shot myself) but I found another image with ISO70 done later.

The camera displays ISO70, and all the viewers and editors too. PhotoME shows that ISO 80 was set but exposure was done on ISO70 then.

How funny. EXIFTOOL shows ISO 70 as well.

Oddly, I see some EXIF info in your file that is not in mine such as Color Temperature. (Firmware versions are identical.)
Otherwise things look very similar.

I would probably contact Pentax and see if its an indication of something faulty.

Well anyway I had to send my K-5 for repair or exchange due to the sensor stain issue. ISO 70 does not worry me at all, I'm just curious if this extra low ISO capability could be used to get even higher DR and IQ. So far it happens rarely ( 3 shots out of 3000) and randomly, but perhaps it could be forced by some new FW...

That's a nice discovery

It hasn't happened to me. I looked at the other DNG you linked to.

My photome shows ISO70/DIN19 in the header/ISO sensitivity field and ISO84/DIN20 in the AE_INFO sensitivity field.

Maybe, it is a debug or special version of the firmware? Strange indeed.

Falconeye, you are local technical expert, can you see from that image if the ISO 70 has a positive influence on image quality?
On sunday evening or monday latest I'll be back home, I should be able to share the ugly photos as well.

Thanks for the expert attribute.
But there is no way to find this out on anything but an extremely well controlled series of test shots. And even then, I doubt I could see the difference between ISO 70 and 80.

What he means is, was there iso 80, and then iso 70 beneath it? Or was it iso 70 instead of iso 80, in which case it was probably still on iso 80, performance wise, but just calling it the wrong thing.

Interestingly, I recall that the DxOMark measured ISO was 70 at the indicated 80 ISO.
