And you don't have 'Release while flash is charging' checked?
Like Wheatfield, on my camera Release While Charging has not been changed from the default setting of Off.

. I‘ve upgraded to 1.02 – tried it and it works fine. (afc,P, LV and flash) I’ve noticed that the LV is drawing lots of current and when the batt is new it will shows battery drop after a few min using LV. That’s + a flash charge may set the voltage of the battery in a point where the SW “take a decision” to prevent the next shot until the proper voltage will be set. Release While Charging puts “don’t care” about the voltage set point. Usually batteries goes to full capacity after few cycle of charge and discharged

The funny thing is that it only refuses to work with an SDM lens.
Flash fires with FA and A lenses.

Yup, SDM only problem

Just did some further testing with all my lenses. My screw drive lenses work fine, LV with flash works fine. Put on either my 18-135 Pentax or 10-20 HSM Sigma and no go LV with flash.

Interesting behavior! (and rather irritating)

Cheers!

This bug appears to have been fixed in the latest silent firmware release from Pentax (see here).
