Below is a picture of a woodpecker I took with my Sigma 150-500 at 500 mm. I was using my K-5, the shutter speed was at 250,the camera sr was on, and the F stop was at 6.3. The OS was off on my lens. When I am doing faster moving wildlife I do increase the shutter speed, but in this case it proved to be alright as with other casual wildlife movement. I love my Sigma 150-500 lens and am happy with its performance both when I used it with my K20D and with my K-5. If you get one you will not be disappointed. As you have seen in the test examples using one or the other (SR or OS) you get reasonable results. In my case I am satisfied using the camera SR. As I mentioned the picture is below.
