K-5 YES there is a sensor problem

January 26, 2011 - 10:15 Stained image sensor on some Pentax K-5 cameras


Pentax has issued a Service Notice on the K-5 digital SLR camera. It appears that some products have been fitted with a stained image sensor - a hitch which is believed to be caused during manufacturing - causing them to occasionally produce images with spots which look something like water drops, and which you cannot remove with ordinary cleaning methods.
