K5 Problems Clearly User Error

QuoteOriginally posted by bxf Quote
Just to show that with my K20D, I didn't have the type of problems I'm having with the K5. Also, since I recall some post not long ago stating that the poster was tired of the images being posted and asking for something a bit more anatomical, these should provide some relief
Maybe now we can put to bed the notion that the original K5 shots are a result of your obvious inability to take a good image of this lovely lady due to your lack of skill...

Nice shots.

Yup those K20D shots are great.

Especially the one on the bottom left

Thanks, but they're just home snapshots, actually. Interesting how a nice subject can sometimes compensate for lack of proper technique.

Technique is OK

The subject does matter, of course, but I especially like the image with the white top where her face has a small splash of light on it.

The images do look somewht soft, but I presume that is a PP choice in the tradition of glamour or fashion shots. I use a technique in PP that gives me the slightly softer or smoother skin like this while keeping fine details nice and sharp (like the eyes). It is a bit time-consuming, however.

A little fill light off camera (if possible) would be helpful in most of these shots, IMO, but for "snapshots" they are just fine.

Anyway, a bit OT, I guess, so maybe we should start a portrait thread so we can discuss the OT parts more and let this thread get back to the K5 and how well it focuses for you (or not).

I just judge a pic on how it pleases my eye or not, so subject makes an awful lot difference. but none the less you've captured her beauty well
