The subject does matter, of course, but I especially like the image with the white top where her face has a small splash of light on it.
The images do look somewht soft, but I presume that is a PP choice in the tradition of glamour or fashion shots. I use a technique in PP that gives me the slightly softer or smoother skin like this while keeping fine details nice and sharp (like the eyes). It is a bit time-consuming, however.
A little fill light off camera (if possible) would be helpful in most of these shots, IMO, but for "snapshots" they are just fine.
Anyway, a bit OT, I guess, so maybe we should start a portrait thread so we can discuss the OT parts more and let this thread get back to the K5 and how well it focuses for you (or not).
