Straight into the sun, @ ISO 80, to give you an idea.
Yep, nice. But I would like to see one with highlight correction enabled. (It's extremely overcast where I am)

Thanks, next time I'm out in the desert I'll give it a try

Seriously though, I think ISO 80's extra DR shows that highlight correction might not be necessary. And I always prefer the flexibility to fiddle with it in post over convenience.

But it would be interesting to see if highlight correction gives similar or better results. It's cloudy here too so I can't test.

Sort of scary...I have had my K20D for almost three years and I am just now on page 12 of the manual....this might be a problem for me, you think? I may be here a lot asking questions, I was raised believing that real men don't need instructions or maps....any of you like that?
Best Regards!
Usually reading manuals get me lost and confused. I rather deal with the question when it comes up. I may miss something (or a lot), but I find more fun exploring that systematically learning.

Read the book, it'll give you ideas, lol. I'd like to see some photo pairs, one made with D-Range employed, and the other at iso80. "Someone" please do that...

Yes, I know. Been there, done that. I red a lot 30 years ago and got lots of ideas. Got badly busted with my first marriage because I thought that life is like in books. Damn classics!

Great picture. I too would choose the great DR of ISO 80 and PP if necessary after.
