Well that looks like a slight FF issue, you should go into your debug mode and adjust your AF setting. Besides AF issues I'm sure your K-x trumps the D3100 and T2i's IQ? Maybe time to practice and get better with manual focus and or catch in focus? AF is nice and all, but I wouldn't rely on it to make the shot on any camera.

Anyone take this dude seriously?

Couldn't agree more, seems like a perfect camera?

I think its funny all his responses simply pend reviewing, so basically people who call it like it is won't get their posts up. I love how he has NO clue about the K-5 and has obviously never even held one..

It's hard to take someone seriously when he doesn't know what he is talking about.

If I understand the K5's manual correctly (page 282), it basically has the same options except for P mode; you can even select which dial does what.

I haven't played with those settings on my K5.
And I assume like the K10D, you can switch the dials, or make one EV comp.

I roam around a lot...there are lots of Forums.....I see almost 100% of K5 users extremely happy with the K5....I sure don't see that on the Nikon Forums with the D7000. Maybe this guys needs to start listening instead of running his mouth? It is what the users say that matters, and users are saying the K5 is far ahead of the Nikon in user appreciation. Check it out for yourself......

Not every one is "into" the Pentax ltd primes but like the flexibility of zooms.

Nikon have better consumer zooms wr IQ/Sharpness than Pentax imho

Pair the Nikon 16-85 & 70-300 with the D7000 and with exceptional accurate flash and you have a fantastic "budget" kit that will deliver IQ/sharpness almost in the "pro" league above any consumer Pentax zoom paired with the K5.

So although the video is rubbish there is definitely a case in point for the D7000 over the K5.

Which of those lenses is weather sealed?

I don't understand the point of Nikon releasing a weather sealed camera, when almost none of the lenses that are even slightly affordable are weather sealed. Beyond which, I really do think the build of the K5 is a notch above the D7000.

The Nikon 16-85 is a slow lens. Sure, it has decent IQ when stopped down to f5.6, but so do an awful lot of other lenses out there. The Pentax 17-70 f4 would match up pretty well against it, for less money (in the United States). As to the telephoto portion, I must confess that I am not that familiar, since I seldom shoot longer than 135mm. I own the DA 55-300 which seems pretty decent, but I don't really use it that much.

How's the 16-85 compared to the 17-70 from Pentax?
EDIT: didn't see the last line above.

Photozone reviewed both and seemed to like the DA 17-70 better than the Nikon 16-85. Basically, the Nikon is reviewed as being "pretty good for what it is." Klaus in particular thought that the Nikon was too slow aperture-wise and exhibited harsh bokeh in many situations.

Nikon has better zooms according to who? I would argue that is far from true as well. I have looked at many reviews of Canikon lenses compared with Pentax and until you spend over a grand for their best lenses, Pentax does better. And you even see the difference? In most cases probably not and most likely nothing you can't fix in post processing.

What Nikon does have is a greater selection and I sure wish Pentax would fix that so the brand has more appeal to pros as well....but Pentax does not seem after that market for whatever reason.
