Yes, it almost certainly is a lens issue, for the simple reason that some lenses are far worse than others in this regard. The worst offender, by far, in the DA lineup is the DA 10-17. There are situations in which I have seen purple fringing in the viewfinder when using that lens. The K-5 will of course amplify such fringing; but it's source is in the lens.

Have a Tokina.....

.....from the film era that have a lot of PF when used on my K10d, and as the aberration is very noticeable, i can measure it, and im my "tests", the K5 doesn't produces more PF than any other camera, with the same lens attached.
