Sorry if i couldn't find this posted previously.....
Noticed upon playback/picture review on the lcd.... colors, sometimes, red, blue of yellow will flash intermittently within the picture itself, not the entire picture, just a portion of it....
the battery ( i have two, both oem pentax) and the battery has a full charge....
any ideas on what the heck is going on??????

Normal. Turn off the highlight and shadow warnings if you don't want to see the 'Blinkies'.

I personally find them very annoying.

I have them enabled on the instant review, but not on playback. Perfect solution.

Ooo i didn't know you could do separate warning for play back/ instant review that, thanks team! :P

The flashing red areas indicate portions of the image that are white and have no detail; the flashing yellow areas indicate portions of the image that are just black and have no detail. These are based upon the jpeg (if shooting jpeg), or the jpeg preview (if shooting RAW) and if you're shooting raw, you may have a bit of headroom in terms of bringing detail back from the blinking areas.

thanks for the responses ... another page in the manual i must've breezed by...
so far really impressed with the dynamic range in the k-5, pulling details from the shadows is superior to anything used to date.... dave m

There's actually not much written in the manual about it, just one sentence, on page 33.

Isn't their an accepted way to get the JPGs to took look more accurate to the RAW file in terms of DR?
