Lost data on SD card

Hi everyone,
I received the K5 together with 60-250. And I am really impressed with the improvments.

Story now:
I left it for some time with my family members and when came the moment to offload the pictures on a laptop I did not check the On/Off button...

What is weird is that all pictures taken since the last use of the on/off button were gone.

I managed to get back some thumnails but it is mostly corrupted data.

For your information all.

Yours in Pentax.
need to update my signature now...

did you try using recovery software? i'm guessing you did since you say you were able to get corrupted thumbnails.

i accidentally deleted all the pictures on my SDcard once and used Magic Uneraser and got them ALL back including some really old pictures i was surprised were still intact on the card (lost Exif data somehow though).

Try the recovery package Recuva (Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File and Disk Recovery - Free Download). It works, it is free and I can recommend it.

Then check your card, reformat it and test it. Beware that you might have to get a new one.

Hoepe that the info will help...

If the tools mentioned don't work for you, give Zero Assumption Recovery a try. It's worked the best from what I've tried.

Download critical data recovery software - computer data recovery with ZAR.

Oliko koko kuvia edes tullut kortille. Usein alottelian virheitä, on meinaan kokemusta tällaisestakin.

If this Recuva fails, Sandisk has a service that works, but you must pay 40 bucks a year for it.

Don't shoot any more on that card, though.

And even after recovery, it's a card you can't trust, so.... You know what to do with *that,* right?

Apart from using the card to recover images off, that card should never be used again, it needs to go in the bin and be replaced.
