Someone better qualified than me might give a fuller answer, but basically the issue of FF (Front Focus) is when the automatic focus appears to lock on to the subject but in fact is focussed on an area a bit in front of the actual subject. The issue is not confined to Pentax by any means. The K5 allows you to adjust (micro-adjust!) the AF settings for each lens. The angst with the K5 is that a number of users have found that in low-level tungsten light the AF is quite erratic: any micro-adjustment might only solve the problem at one focal length or one light level. Upgrading to firmware 1.03 made a number of users happy but left a number of others still unhappy. Hopefully 1.04 will see everyone happy. If it was to be a problem for you, just use liveview until it is fixed.
