I got mine just a week ago as an upgrade from my K-20. It clearly is the DSLR I've been waiting for. There is a lot to learn with it to get even more out of it but right out of the box, it's got wow factor.

Thanks guys, I this was a tough decision. I was going to get a K7 then a Kr, my wife was so sick of it, she finally just demanded for me to get the K5 and shut up!

Welcome to the club. Kudos to your wife. As soon as you power up that K5 and start taking photos, you'll wonder what all the indecision was about. I don't want to knock any of the other cameras but after having all of the other flagships and then the K5, I couldn't see myself ever going for less of a camera.

Getting pentax was the easy part, It was really hard for me to justify the money in my mind. Make no doubt I wanted this K5 as soon as I saw it! In the past year,I had some pictures published in a book from Panache publishing, and my wonderful wife feels that I could actually take better pictures with it. I agree, kudos to her big time!!!

Congratulations, it may also come on Saturday if not tomorrow.....
The K5 works great here in central Texas, where Squirrels are plentiful. I hardly ever say much about my K5 here, but in case you missed it, what a fantastic camera!

Best Regards!

Rupert I have seen some of those squirrel! I though I was one of a few that loved those guys. We had a "pet" we called Sandy, and I bet I have more of her than I do of my grandson!

Your shots of Otis are great! keep those coming!

You guys sure push a good argument to make me want to dump my trustworthy K-7 for the newest flagship! K-5 with a backup K-7 sounds like a solid plan.

Thanks all, I am going to give a shout out to B&H, that is where I ordered it form. I called several places, and asked a couple of quick questions about shipping, warranty, and batteries. B&H was the ONLY site, that answered all of my questions politely, and seemed like they really cared. I will be surprised if it truly makes it by tomorrow, If it doesn't I KNOW it will be here Monday. I have an insider on the tracking and delivery. My daughter works for UPS so when it gets to the hub, she will grab it and get it to me before the truck could.

Thanks and I know you will be thrilled with the K5. Since you are not too far away, Otis asked for your address to deliver you a box of Squirrels to replace your Sandy Squirrel. Don't give it out! The last person Otis visited is still threatening a lawsuit for the damage Otis' Army did to his garden.
Best Regards!

Too funny man, But we have 3 pugs, 2 poodles, 1 potbelly pig, 2 cockatoos, 1 quaker parrot, 3 cats, so think about it my friend, how much more damage could Otis do? \\

I even got cocky enough to change my signature
