Use a smaller aperture to fix the DOF problem.

As far as the colors go, you will have to play with the white balance as well, as it might be off here. Another option would be to shoot in RAW.

What I always recommend is you play around with the custom image functions in the Pentax software. After taking a single raw photo, you can preview what the image would have looked like had you taken it in whatever JPEG modes the camera offers.

If you have no manual, perhaps you should check yvon borques publication.
It is an excellent manual very thorough and very easy to follow.

You can download the manual from the Pentax website.

As to the colour balance, I think it's right - the clouds are the right colour, so is the helmet if it's white and so is the white numberplate on the front of the bike. But I'd suggest going to the factory settings for everything to start with, which means abandoning the Vibrant colour setting, and gradually experimenting with them if you feel it's necessary.

You might also like to think about shooting RAW+ - RAW plus a JPG. Gives you more options but you have a JPG as well.

I always shoot in raw, then I can mass convert them to JPG through Adobe Lightroom. You don't have to purchase the software, you can download it time and again after your 30 day trial license expires fyi.

That's ethically questionable and probably illegal. Besides, doesn't Adobe make a note of your ISP address every time you download a trial program, preventing you from using it again?

To stop action shoot you need a speed of about 1/600

Again , read a good book like Understanding Exposure, all secrets about proper speed, aperture and ISO all clearly explain

Use Adobe Lightroom and create a preset which does things automatically. I can process 800 pictures in a few seconds (literally just several clicks).
