Vivid Sydney

Did anyone else take photos.

I used my K-5 in TAv mode, and the bulk of the photos I took were on the FA43mm at f1.9:

Hi Christine.

There are probably 4 or 5 threads in the 'Post your photos" section about Vivid Sydney.

Yeah I know about Eric's photos, which were mostly taken on a tripod with a bunch of lenses.

I was wondering whether anyone did what I did, which is wandered around mostly with just one prime and took handheld photos in TAv mode.

I found it a liberating experience.

Why liberating? I am confused. I've been doing things that way for years at night. I thought it was normal. I couldn't imagine using a tripod for street photography, day or night.

I've been taking Vivid photos 3 years in a row.

2009 (the year Vivid started) K10D no tripod - I found it challenging to get good pictures without resting the camera on a surface

2010 - K10D with tripod - great pictures, but I found tripod really cumbersome

2011 - K-5 no tripod - great, walked around, no issues, much better experience than previous years
