K5 Charger Light Flashes...???

A few times when placing the Battery that came with the K5 in the Pentax Charger the charging light flashes green constantly. After removing the battery from the charger and putting the battery back in the charger a few times it seems to charge normally (constant green light). After charging complete light goes out as normal. Voltage on battery reads +8.3vdc.

My other pentax brand battery does not cause the charger light to flash, but instead the charger light shows a constant green light until battery is charged.

Any Ideas?....

The manual should tell you why this might be.

I'm a fan of telling people to RTFM, but unfortunately, if you actually read the relevant pages 49-50 of the K-5 user manual, there is nothing there that talks about the charging light flashing green, so it doesn't help the OP...

I'd suggest sending an email off to Pentax to see what they say.

It may pay to clean the contacts on the battery as that may be the problem. Worth a try anyway!
