I read somewhere that the bigger danger was that the settings on the camera with the first lens might cause the physical mechanisms in the second lens to put it into motion (or something) which might cause it harm.
Can't recall where I read that so it might just be urban legend.
I do, however, try to power down before a change. The K-5 powers on and off quickly enough to not make that an issue and I do worry that the camera body won't properly recognize (and control) the new lens. Probably goes back to my early computer days where to be safe you ALWAYS rebooted after doing anything!
