Using a Canon 430 EXII Flash?

Is it possible to use a Canon 430 EX II flash onboard my K5 hotshoe? Can I trigger it off camera with the pop up flash? Any help is appreciated.

TIA

Short answer: I doubt it. At least, I've never heard of anyone doing that. But then again I could be wrong.
However, I'm wondering if it would work to mount it on a cactus and fire it that way???

I've mounted my mothers canon flash on my pentax with no problems before. Don't expect automatic control of power and spread though, you will have to set everything manually.

As for slaving it to the onboard flash, I have no idea!

You can trigger it wirelessly... I have a Yongnuo for Canon which I use all the time.

It works (mounted on the hotshoe) - manual mode, but it works.
