Took delivery of my new K5

Well, I received my K5 yesterday late in the day. So far everything seems fine. Auto focus even in light lit by a 75 watt bulb seems really good. I really can't believe how well the high ISO performs. Totally acceptable at 2000. I'm sure in many situations 6400 would be fine. Can't wait to check out the dynamic range. This camera will probably last me for years. Tomorrow I'll try my 55-300 DA Lens. Now to get all my settings right. Now the TAv mode is actually useful.

I had 50,000 in my first year with my k20d, so just keep on shooting!

Looked at B/H Photo today, and saw the K5 kit I bought which came today, for $101.00 less than I paid. They are crediting my card. If anyone's interested, it now goes for $1349.95 with the 18-55mm kit lens.

Found out Adorama was selling the same kit for $1349.95 with and 8 gig card, sling case, and spare battery. B/H matched it as well, and is send the stuff for free.

Congratulations! I do think a few words to Otis might be in order? He wasn't kidding you, was he!
Regards!

Note: You maybe better at this than me, but it has taken me a while to get all the adjustments just right for me. The K5 does seem cooler in Jpegs than my K20D and much cooler than my K10D. I shoot only DNG+ so it didn't matter, but I have finally got my Jpegs just right, and find them very nice.

You are right on Tav....I am set there 90% of the time. Great setting to have! You seldom miss a shot when set on Tav.

Mr. Rupert,

You do know that the Dos Equis "Most Interesting Man in the World" finds squirrels untrustworthy don't you? I heard it on the radio. Maybe your buddy Otis can convince him otherwise and he will outfit himself with a Pentax K-5? Seems like a good fit to me.

Otis is the only Squirrel that has ever bit me........so I can't say that I can disagree with "The Most Interesting Man" too much. Otis does inform that he doesn't find that guy all that interesting, but he would be willing to bite him to see what he tasted like......

Regards!

Tony...Otis says thanks and sends his regards! He recommends a full set of Ltd's.......but for Squirrels he recommends the Bigma, his favorite!

Tell Otis I respect his decision, but right now the pocketbook says it is not going to happen. By the way Deputy Dawg is ready to engage!
