Third time out with K5

Went out again with my new K5. So far so good. I really think this camera is the best all around DSLR on the market today. Must admit I get a bit nerves everytime I turn it on, but I just keep my fingers crossed.

Yup, it's a great camera- doesn't lack much apart from video functionality, I'd say.

Yes, and I'd give up video entirely for a 16:9 aspect ratio in liveview for stills. I really like the TAv mode now the the high ISO performance, and dynamic range is so greatly improved.

If you don't have faith in the product to the point you are unsure about whether it will work every time you go to use it, is this really the camera you want for your trip to Italy?
For myself, I'd want equipment that I had confidence in for something like that.

My son is bringing along a Lumix FZ 100 as well. I'm sure this camera will be fine, but god there has been a lot of people with recent problems. A friend of mine on another board just received her K5. It worked great for the first several shots, then her rear LCD died. It's scary is all I'm saying, but yes we will have another camera with a decent lens.

Nothing special. Just the DA 55-300mm lens.

I will take that "nothing special" lens off your hands for $ 50 and I will even pay for shipping. I promise you will not miss it.

That is a first one I heard of. We must start to keep an eye out for that. Possibly should start a poll. What do you all think.
No way it could have been due to lack of charging the battery first.

Wheatfield, Stop It! Tony is already nervous with Otis' "Guarantee Squirrel Volunteer" following his every step, ready to activate that guarantee, and he doesn't need any more help in testing the SR with his shaky hands......

Nice shots Tony, I love the grasshoppers, and of course the Handsome Squirrel! That lens works nicely on the K5 too.

Just relax and enjoy! Otis has you covered, I just checked on him, not a bit nervous, just enjoying the beautiful day and dreaming of the night ahead over at Sylvia's place......

No need to worry!

Regards!

Tell Otis I took a pick of his cousin Rocky from Bullwinkle fame. I'll post them later. He said to tell Otis even though his show was canceled he's still a chick magnet!
