Odd exposures.

I did not have sensor stains or mirror flops. I had 5 freezes in the first couple months, but nothing for months now.

This happened today. All in P mode, no exposure comp. Exif is in the file name.

The top right corner is tree and sky.

Three shots like this of the same subject.

Then this subject.

I turned the mode dial to Tv or something and back to P. All was well from then out.

My guess is the lens was not seated properly.

Not sure, if lens was not seated correctly all shots would be over exposed? As for first shot under exposed, maybe issue is in camera settings.
I would go for system reset and see if I could reproduce same. If same happens then camera is at fault and me would be balistic at pentax.
Cheers
Shane

I had something similar the other day when the 32 sd card was getting full. Not sure if this is what happened here. Did a reformat and it all worked ok.

I've had a very few totally black shots with the K20D. This is odd as the first shot was fine, then had the dark shot as above, then some good ones, then the overexposed ones. I don't think it was lens related after all.

By any chance exposure bracketing switched (on by accident). Your description makes sense with the default setting 0 / - / +.

I only have 1 stop either way for bracketing, and this is more like 4 stops one way. Plus it was not really a bracket - it was 3 identical exposures (on the first overexposure) and only one underexposure out of the sequence.
