This is also a problem with my ricoh grd iv, but I can't bother fixing it, since I use the flash from wireless triggers and they fire just fine.

It didn't work with mine ! Yn560II looks different inside, more cables. Green and yellow:/ HELP!

Which method did you try?
The capacitor (#7) or the
resistor (#15) method?

Thank you for your quick reply,

Im pretty much poor in any hardware modifications, so I asked my friend to help me out, he tried with most of the cables I guess[resistor not capacitor],
What we achieved is ''sound'' button makes sound now when you press it [didn't before], flash goes back to normal after removing it from the hot shoe, before I had to take all batteries out to restart.

Sir ! Just wondering now if they sold me correct resistor! :/
Mine is different than yours, brown/silver/black/black/brown.
Will this make anything if the number is higher ?

sure this makes a difference. you soldered a 1Ohm resistor and not a 1000Ohm resitor.
the reading is brown black black silver, btw. should be brown black black brown.

a 1Ohm resitor may not make such a big difference, but 1k Ohm is a 1000 times
stronger resistance and i would give it another try. such a resitor is very cheap.

I'm so excited. Thanks to the suggestions on this thread, 45c for the resistor and my Dad's soldering skills I now have a YN-560 II that works on my K5. We attached the resistor to the yellow wire. So excited! Thanks again helpful people.

I just ordered this flash, YN560II, and I was prepared to do this when it arrived. Well I didn't do this yet,andI have been using this with my pentax k5, and so far I have no issues. I took the bottom apart and mine looks different from the other pictures above, so maybe yongnuo updated their flash to fix issues like this?

i'm sure there is such a resistor in the heat shrink tube. so yours is fine :-)

Hey, this sure is an interesting thread, and thanks all who have contributed fixes. I have the original 560, same as the one in the original fix. I tried both a .1uF and a .01uF capacitor and neither worked. I know the flash is fine as it fires reliably when connected to my triggers. However, my transmitter has a similar issue as well. It works about 5% of the time when attached to my K5 IIs hotshoe, but 99% of the time when unattached.. Considering that my transmitter is also having issues, though, I can't help but wonder if there is something wrong with my hotshoe, and not the triggers/flash. I have not tried a resistor instead of capacitor, will see how that goes. Anyone else think this could actually be a QC issue with K5 hotshoes?
