two things I didnt see mentioned here when I skimmed, excuse me if they were mentioned and I missed it...

do you have the most recent firmware? I updated and noticed a nice improvement on my autofocus

what lens are you using? is it happening with all your lenses?

Good point about the green hexagon, I might have recomposed as soon as the red square flashes.

I am on 1.03. The photo was shot with the DA* 16-50mm. My other lens is the Sigma 10-20mm, which has a huge DOF. So I guess I can't be sure whether it is lens specific, I may borrow a friend's FA lenses some time and do some tests.
