K-5's you bought new!?!

So this is just a way to make an estimation on the amount of K-5's that are sold.
  • How many K-5 Black (or Silver) did you buy new?
  • The body's returned for stains or so only count once, since they went back to Pentax.
  • Body's bought on the second hand market don't count!
  • Body's bought, but returned within the policy time for the shop to do so to get your money back, count in as no sale, so no K-5 for you.
  • How many Black or Silver body's do you have.
  • An estimation can then be made since we know there are 1500 Silver's made.

I wish I could have voted "1 and a half."
Weird situation with mine. I bought a "new" K-5 last Thursday, and returned it on Sunday because it wasn't new, in terms of ownership, at all. It apparently was a return that got resold to me. It was manufactured in July. The replacement, which seems pristine and in good working order (haven't had time to check it thoroughly) was manufactured last March, and I'm surprised they still had that one in stock. So my not-new K-5 was newer (but crappier) than my new new K-5. If that makes any sense. It didn't to me.

Well I bought a black K-5 in november 2010 and send it back in december 2010 for the stains, on the same day that I bought a second K-5. In return for my stained K-5 I got in april a K-5 Silver. My K-5 black I sold last month and replaced it with a new K-5 black. So for me, I bought 2 K-5 black and one K-5 Silver (having four different body's in ownership).

Just bought one. I can't afford any more. Haven't had any problems with it yet.

On my second K5 the first had a sensor stain the latest (from another retailer) has been back for repair twice now and at time of writing is still away the first time took 3 weeks this time it is now 4 weeks and counting with a shutter jamming problem. So far the K7 has proved much more reliable in build quality but when its working the K5 is the camera for me

I suppose, since people are writing about their defective units, I should chime in and say that I've had my (one, only) K5 for six months now with no problems.

Silver buyer.

I bought a silver K5 and silver DA70 about 9 months ago. Yes, it cost a heap more but I just love the retro look. No problems so far!

Why is that?

I always use 2 bodies on a shoot. It means I don't miss shots by having to change lenses. I keep a long telephont and a medium or wide angle on the other.
