I just bought a used K-5, moving from a Canon 20D. I have budgeted 2K for lenses, which will require selling some gear from other systems. I want at least one weather resistant lens. I do some street, landscape and casual portraiture.
Based on that, I'd go:
DA 21 Limited - small and compact, great for street and 'scapes, great walk-around lens
DA* 55 - your portrait and low light lens
DA* 50-135 - for portraits & long lens 'scapes, for street it's big and bulky, and I don't recommend long lenses for street, but if you prefer long lens street shooting then this can be very flexible.
Comes out to USD $1998 on B&H as of a few minutes ago.
Still trying to wrap my head around US prices. Here in the Philippines, that trio comes out to over USD $3K.
You get a small compact Limited (size=one of the reasons I love Pentax vs NiKanon), and you also get 2 fast & weather sealed DA*'s.
Cheers.
