Just ordered K-5...

...to replace K-7 which dynamic range has driven me mad (I do mainly nature photography and about 75% of those pics are landscapes).
K-5 should arrive within two+ weeks and I just can't wait to my hands on it...
K-7 will stay as backup body though it will not see much action.

Yay!! I just got my k-5 today.. shutter count zero, wow, I am impressed.. although I have recently been able to use k-7 up to iso2500 jpg without much problem... this one is going to be even better.

Congratulation to those who recently pulled the trigger on k-5....

Did you check it for hot pixels? I am waiting for the replacement of my K-5 because of that.

I assume you are a jpeg shooter, deimo. Most raw converters take care of hot pixels during conversions to the bitmap image.

I am a raw shooter... so not much concern about hot pixels also becaues it can be remapped. Stain is more of a concern (still needs to be tested), but it seems that the problem is behind us since the manufacture date is 2011/09 which is quite recent. Besides, there are plenty of times to test during the 2-year warranty period. I just recently used jpeg more often since I am getting some good results from the k-7 with minimal noise in high iso 1600-3200 range.

All digital sensors develop hot pixels with time. Mine now has 6 hot pixels but I know they will be mapped out during the raw->bitmap conversion so I do not worry about it.

I received a message yesterday...
The store I bought my K-5 from doen not accept non-US credit card though in the web site there was no problem selecting foreign billing address.
Need to find new offer around $950,- in some foreign friendly store to make my move.

Bummers... I think Adorama and Amazon has specials around that range. What store did you order from?

EDIT: Here's the thread talking about it.

I tried Fumfie.com
And I just checked again the site and could not find any restrictions mentioned.
Actually they claim "all credit cards accepted" and for billing address you can choose any country from the list.

Well, hopefully the prices on monday will be around 950 or at least below 1000.

I know it is annoying but you are better off not dealing with Fumfie.com Try googling them and you'll see what I mean. They are $995 today from legit sellers that are authorized Pentax dealers.

Hi all. New member to the forums and my K5 was shipped today (replacing my trusty little istDS2). I hope this one will give 5 or 6 years of faithful service too. Very (no, VERY excited!!). Can't wait to play!
