Mirror lock-up with 2-second delay

When I shoot on a tripod with my K5, I usually do so using the 2-second delay exposure mode, rather than with a wired or wireless cable release. In this mode, I believe the mirror locks up when the shutter is pressed (can anyone confirm this is accurate?), but the exposure it taken 2 seconds later. Anyone know if a 2-second delay is long enough to allow any residual internal vibrations caused by the mirror moving to dissipate, or if a longer delay is advisable in the interest of maximizing sharpness?

Yes, the 2sec delay locks the mirror up to avoid mirror slap affecting the stability of the camera.
Yes, it's more than enough to stabilise internal vibrations, but not for any instability of a flimsy tripod.

With remote I prefer using mirror lock up function as the mirror can be locked up in advance and the image is grabbed as soon as you release the shutter.

Mirror lockup during Interval Shooting

Unfortunately, it looks as though the mirror doesn't lock up during interval shooting.
