I do agree. But then you need to know the correct point spread function, i.e., the one used for your lens and the raw conversion. PhotoAcute knows this and this is why they generate PSFs from controlled test shots done by their users.
However, such test shots normally suffer from non-optimum focus and other sources of blur. Moreover, most camera/lens combinations are simply unsupported by PhotoAcute. This is why I am doing it the way I do.
