I was suffering from that bug (https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-k-5-forum/167780-using-m-lens-lv-k-5-a.html) and yes, F/W v1.12 has fixed it on my K-5.

Freezing when push "green" button in LV mode happens also with M42 lens (with adapter M42->K). I discovered this long time ago.

After some test's, some thinking and calculation, I ended with following conclusion:
- This happens, when you tried to metering situation, below low limit of metering system in K-5 (which is -2 EV, i believe).

So, you try to meter scene with pushing "green" button, and K-5 try to meter and obtaining some adequate speed value.
But, because metering system is not able to catch the enough light, K-5 metering is cycling, trying and trying and trying again... and so on to infinity. and K-5 is freeze.

When some light fell in metering sensor (above -2 EV), the metering system finally do it's job correctly, and k-5 unfreeze.

I suggested, this is normal behavior of metering system, so I stop worried about, and when this is happen accidentally, I put some light in front of lens (with lighter for instance) and K-5 unfreeze complete.

Anyway, I'm glad that this is fixed now. So, I may (uuummmm, or may be not ) upgrade from my currently 1.03 to 1.12

(I hate that "new" behavior of K-5, in comparison with K10 before, that's no way to downgrade firmware to the previous versions)

I actually encountered this issue fairly often in low light scenes with manual lenses(none contact). And since it never happened on any other body(K200/20D), I contacted Pentax to open an official bug report with them.

And I'm really glad they fixed it too. Now the K-5 I can meter all the way to 20s without as much as a hiccup.

I have - on just a few random astro shots. Usually with the DA* 50-135, but that could be unrelated. I hadn't seen any reports of the problem anywhere, so am surprised to see it addressed in a firmware update.

(had to edit this - once I dug up the photos, I see they were with the Sigma 100-300mm lens)

I up dated. So far, it's kept my lens release button from falling off and my mirror from flopping.
