K5 card slot

New K5, stubby fingers, card slot doesn't want to let go of the SD card.

Any suggestions? Does it get easier?

The card is a bit snugger in the K5. Either I have gotten used to it or it has loosened up some. I saw an post in another thread recommending using sandpaper to remove a small bit of the side of the card. I haven't tried it but may on one of my cards.

in and out lots makes it better, also a bit of textured sticker (fuzzy animal) on the end of the sd card makes it easier to grip.

The SD card slot on my K5 loosened up after some use. It was super tight to begin with when brand new.

When you release it, push it in with your fingernail then let the spring pop it out. It won't fly out, but may get past the sticky spot.

Mine has loosened up a wee bit with use too. At first I was using tweezers to pull mine out

There are also variants of thickness (albeit slightly) between brands of SD cards; discussed earlier when the k-7 first came out. Perhaps you may try a different brand name SD card. My lexar/panasonic/transend cards work fine on both my k-5 and k-7.

Yes, that's my technique too.

Well it was, till I got an Eye-Fi card

I have a K7 and the slot is a little tight. One day when I was removing a card, I noticed the card has a small slot in the end so you can hook onto the card with your fingernail so you can pull it out farther. That's what I normally do at least.

Some loosen up after use, some don't.
I resolved to adding a piece of plastic tape to the end of each of my SD cards.
Just be careful to not add too much or it will interfere with the water seals.
