I just downloaded and updated v.1.12 for the Kr no problems with the install.
The description for both the Kr and K5 Firmware updates are word for word the same thing.
Hopefully problems other than what's described are also addressed in both cameras.

I enjoy living on the edge so I burned in 1.13 as soon as it was released. To my shock and horror, when i then inserted my normal Sandisk 16GB class10 card and turned on the K-5 it said "Invalid or Corrupted card" or something very close to that. Turned it off/on again and all is fine and I could not repeat the message so am comfortable i did something to cause it. Tried all drive modes today while shooting BIFs and without an SDXC card it seems exactly like it was on 1.12. Thats what it should be doing.

No need to upgrade as I dont have any SDXC cards. I'll wait to see what hidden enhancements are in this one first.

Depends, I suspect that with the new 40mm XS that there will also be lens correction data for it, especially with the Silver Ltd & 40mm package coming out.

Not getting an XS lens any time soon, unless there's a give-away. There is another thread on this and in it some people are saying that the upgrade disables PKTether and the Debug mode.

They have indeed been reported and some also got rectified later on. Restarting the camera mostly does the trick, or try re-inserting battery first (to be sure the memory is really flushed). Pk_tether is unstable as is, so you can't blame this update. I tried both debug mode and pk_tether and they still work after updating!

In that same post the individual that made that claim claims an oops it did not disable the debug mode.
Tried it on my Kr and can confirm it does not disable PKTethers Debug Mode.

Glad to hear that things are not as bad with the update. Still gonna sit this one out on both the K-x and K-5 for a little while as none of the revealed improvements are relevant to me.

Hi! I have a brand new K-5 (battery still in the charger)! Don´t know what firmware it even has yet but I´m pretty sure it needs an upgrade.

What do you guys recon, should I use the 1.12 (already downloaded) for now and wait for more user replies or jump directly to 1.13 ?

Thanks!
