K-5 picture display slow on monitor?

I was taking some photos in low light, in my house and I found when I pressed my picture display symbol...the picture was slow coming on to the monitor...in fact the hourglass showed.

Time for picture to display on monitor would be 2-3 seconds.... usually it seems instantaneous.

I took similar photos with my old K10D at the same time...the pictures appeared almost instantaneously on the K10D monitor ?

Not sure why...usually the K-5 outdoors will display picture on monitor almost instantly.

Any ideas ?

I guess it's noise reduction working.

dark frame substraction is probably on or on auto, it's under noise reduction most likely.

It is most likely some in-camera post-processing (PP). High ISO noise correction is likely the culprit in low light. Another possibiity could be lens distortion correction.

May Pentaxians prefer to switch off all in-camera PP, because it is slow, and you have more control to do it later in computer.

Hope that the comment may help.

Maybe you need a faster memory card?

Using new 1.13 fw writing speed to my 8GB Sandisk CL 10 (30MB declared speed), has improved more that 25% percent, it's noticeably. Now, even with HL Corr and Shadow correction on, speed is almost the same, "main" contributor to low writing speed is Hi ISO NR, and lens correction.
However this is my finding, some people may have different opinion.

Thanks everybody....although I'm not completely sure what the issue was...I'm pretty sure it was the NR black frame subtraction....I did the reset a couple of times and that seemed to bring it back to normal.

I had been going through the menu and changing some of the settings and I think I must of messed things up there.

Thanks again for all the advice....it was very helpful in resolving the issue.
