I use the Tamron 28-75 2.8 a lot... it's usually part of my travel kit and I use it a lot indoors also. It's sharp, quick to focus and has good color. Plus the focal range is perfect for across the table shots or in a moderate sized room.

I have them both and they are very good lenses for the price, the 28-75 approaches prime quality.

There is a thread in the lenses section with lots of photos from the 28-75. https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/145599-tamron-...lots-pics.html

The 18-250 also gets very good ratings in the reviews section.
Only issue is zoom creep is very pronounced but there is a lock switch on the lens that will help during transport.

As much as I hate to admit it, the 28-75 might be the sharpest lens I own. It's absurdly sharp. And it's has really nice colors, good contrast and a really nice looking bokeh. It's probably one of the best lenses for the money out there.

Funny enough, I just posted a story pointing to the fact that the build quality is also apparently pretty good, seeing as how mine was on my camera on a tripod this weekend when the the wind kicked up and decided to blow it over. Body and lens both ate sh!t pretty hard. Besides minor scratches, both are fine. See here for story: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-k-5-forum/178068-i-swear-these-thi...tructible.html

I've tried this lens (altho for nikon) and it was great to use. I think its as good as my 16-50, only reason I didn't want it is because I wanted longer focal lenghts.

I also have both, mainly as my grab & carry lenses.

If I have the time to set up a photo shoot, there are many lenses to choose from.

But when in a hurry, either the 28-75 or 18-250 are above quality lenses.

Tamron

I have 28/75 and it’s very useful, Sharp, good color balance. It’s almost my standard zoom for every day. I really recommend it.

The 18-250mm is the default lens mounted to my Kr in the bag and often is the only zoom I have with me. I also carry a few primes for "special" photos but the 18-250 sees a ton of use because it has amazing range and very good IQ. Have not used my kit 18-55 once since getting it.

I have the 18-250 from Pentax (same as Tamron). Very good super zoom, I like it very much. This lens isn't a WR, but seems sealed better than some zooms. I've shot with this in the rain with just a plastic bag and a small towel draped over the lens. No leaks, no condensation, no problems at all. My lens doesn't have zoom creep, more like zoom run. There is a product to stop this called Lens Band.
