@templeorg, please read my studies about possible shutter-induced vibration in the K-5 and you'll know everything you'll ever need, and then some. The mirror is NOT slowing down exposure bracketing shots. It is not the slowest part as you claim. Or loudest. Or the one causing most vibration.
LOL, you should re-name your blog to "photography mythbuster", because just about every techinical concept I thought I understood about photography is changed everytime I read a new article on your blog. Whether it's camera equivlance, MP = noise, or mirror slap.

Did you know that the new Canon 1D-X can take 14fps, with mirror going down after everyshot? So it not the mirror that is the biggest issue, it is the shutter
That proves nothing by itself - that might as well just show that Canon was able to build a faster mirror moving system than Pentax did.

Actually it proves alot, it proves that what you said about the A77, being able to do 10FPS because it doesn't have a moving mirror, is wrong. The moving mirror does not have anything to do with that.
It all relates to the mirror, shutter and buffer. Those three make up how fast your fps can be, with the buffer being most critical, then shutter and then as last the mirror.

I can't recall any that have said that. What they have said is that it allows the AF to function so fast because there is no moving mirror.
You may be right, and I may have misread/misinterpreted that part. Maybe _I_ should re-read that review

Please do, and cite it if it's not as I said. It could be that I'm wrong, or maybe the review is just poor.
