Did the original Limited Silver K-5's have problems?

I interested in buying a lightly used Original Limited Silver K-5 from the first batch, but I'm hesitating because they were made in early 2011 (I think?) and I was wondering if they had any issues like the sensor stains or mirror flops, etc? Thanks for any help.

Given they would have te exact same internals as any other K-5 I suspect there is some chance it may have a fault, best to check before you buy.

no sensor stains or mirror flops, but the K-5 Silver Limited Edition (not to be confused with the new K-5 Silver "Special" Edition) has one major problem: You will never ever want to part with it. I can't imagine parting with it until Pentax Ricoh release a Silver Limited Edition full-frame model.

In all seriousness, you would be extremely unlucky if there was a problem with that individual unit. It is a pleasure to hold and use and looks damn fine with either black or silver lenses mounted.

$1299 I thought was fair... Though at the time (12 hours ago) the black K-5 was selling for $1199!!!

It's supposed to be like new with around 300 clicks... the pictures of it were pretty! We'll see!

Yeah the silve K-5's should be kosher, though I could have sworn that somebody found stains on theirs once.

I had a small "string of pearls" sensor stain on a silver K-5 that I bought. It was smaller and less of an issue than the one I had on my initial K-5 (from the initial production run), but it was present nonetheless.

As I understand it from Pentax USA, they will fix the Stain issues should they arise in any of the K-5's, warranty or not. So I'm not too concerned about that. The camera is supposed to have around 300 clicks on it, so if I understand the stain issue it is possible for it to start appearing after a few thousand shots. I'll just keep an eye on it and see what happens.
