K-5 US Price drop - $999!

Adorama has just e-mailed informed me of a price drop for the K-5- it's finally down to $999, at least through the end of the month!

Edit: B&H has now also dropped the prices!

Maybe you guys on the fence better read this again.......at that price, try to find anything...old or brand new...that is going to give you anywhere near as much camera for your money?

Looks like Pentax just dropped the prices by $200- that's a good move.

London Drugs here in town have had their last K-5 at $999.99 for the last 3 weeks. If I had the money, it would be mine. I want a 2nd one.

Canada has enjoyed lower prices for a while- glad that most of the markup has finally been shaved off in the US as well

BTW, I've been told that at the end of the month, the price of the K-5 will go up by $300 and stay at $1299 until it's discontinued.

Alas no $$$ and my cameras are still going strong - would be tempting for us Australians as it dips below the $1000 gst threshold meaning we don't need to pay local tax on an overseas purchase. That Q price is a welcomed move too.

I'm on the fence whether to upgrade my K-7 to K-5 now or wait until K-z/K-3 information comes out. If I do the latter, I expect I could find a lightly used K-5 for this price or cheaper.

Bah hard decision...

I shoot certain events/situations with two bodies and I'm sitting with a K-5 and two secondary bodies: K-7 for outdoors use, e.g., aviation events, and K-X for indoors owing to its sensitivity. If I will be working both in and out, I'll use the K-X and hope it doesn't rain but will complain all day that the K-X controls are limited and in the wrong place.

OK - I think I just talked myself into selling the K-7 and K-X, then adding a few hundred to get a second K-5. Any takers?
