Despite the cold weather we have been having, this spirea has managed to develop some glorious plummage.

The warm winter here has made for a very active spring - lots of butterflies and the foliage apparently was happy to not get a really bad freeze. Here, at least. I gather Michigan and Wisconsin got a rough late freeze after the mild winter and early budding.

I like the warmth of that spirea shot, RMBaker - was that at sunset with a reddish cast?

No, TER-OR it was taken just around noon. At this time of year, the "gold flame" really lives up to its name. In Camera Raw, I did apply "clarity" and "vibrance" but the colours are the real thing.
