K5 & SDHC UHS-I Cards

Just a question. I have been using the 32gb Lexmark professional class 10 cards but these seem to now being not offered, instead it is listed as class 10 UHS-I cards. Anyone know if these work in the K5 and is the speed about the same as a class 10 card? I have the 1.13 firmware.

These cards are bound to non-UHS speeds at about 20 MB/s. The K-5 will not operate an SD card at UHS-I speeds as it lacks support for the 4-bit transfer mode.

I wonder if the download speed is faster than SDHC card?

they work, but not at uhs mode.
this means you cant expect them to utilize the 60(400x) or 90(600x)mb/s speed...
they will fallback to 20-30 mb/s which, for the k-5, is more than enough.
i personaly use a sandisk extreme uhs-1 45mb/s it works, and its very fast, havent seen any difference to the extreme III 30mb/s card.

You mean at home with your PC? Yes, but only if you have USB 3.0 port and a new USB 3.0 cardreader.

Thanks for the feed back. It's just that B&H has the twin pack 32GB cards in UHS-I at a good price, but no decent class 10. Didn't want to drop the cash and find I had 2 32GB cards that only worked in the K-01.

Is this what you are talking about? I read that if the card does not detect a UHS-1 interface it will automatically revert to the Class 10 standard interface. To me it looks like most of the new class 10 Sandisk cards have this new UHS-1/Class 10 dual personality. I have used both the Sandisk Extreme and Extreme Pro UHS-1/Class 10 SDHC cards in the K-5 and they both work fine. The Extreme Pro being just a smidgen faster because of its internal electronics.
