In AF-S camera focuses and then fires all shots without refocusing, so it is normal, that in AF-S it fires more rapidly than in AF-C.

I use the setting with priority for AF with AF-C. With iso above 5000 the camera slows down. I guess that a max of around 3fps with AF-C is the max, maybe some more when the target isn't moving, but following a subject it isn't faster. I guess it all comes down to the AF-module and processor speed from the PRIME-II that handles the data.
