I sold my k-x to buy a k-5.
I'm very happy of my choise.
In term of image quality and High ISO performance, I didn't find a big difference.
I think they are (jpeg) quite similar.
The best improvements in my opinion,are:
-fine AF adjust --> better results in terms of AF precision
- AF.C works!
- Liveview is really usable in k-5
- better access to commands (expecially I like exposure method and AF selectors + double ring). --< you can change setting very fast
- strong personalization in terms of P mode, ISO curves, ISO priorities, USER mode.
- better AF performance in artificial light

At the end, I think that k-5 shall be considered a "must" if you need one of these improvements.
