Remote Control in Bulb setting not working... :-(

Hello pentaxians of the world, i need your knowledge ! i was trying to do some long exposures and i noticed something...
menu item C - 3 - 19
i've set it to Mode 1, it should be push once to start and another one to end the exposure...
it doesnt work, i have to keep the button pressed (like having mode 2).
Its a third party remote though...
Should this be working with the cameras(k-5) shutter button? because its not working with that either...
its not a serious issue, i can always lock the button on the remote... but it troubles me, why is it not working ?

probably i'm an idiot or something...
i tried one sony tv-remote and it works with that...
so its only for the ir remote, and not the cable remote...
