He we go with that reading BS again. I'll do it, but I don't gotta like it.
The K-5 manual is a bit intimidating. I think it may be longer than the manual that came with my Honda Civic.

None of us like it! However, most of what the K5 can do and do well is inside that book. It's like a map....and I hate maps too! As I type this, no telling how many men are out there driving in circles, lost and afraid, alone and lost...all because they won't ask for directions or get a map. I know, I was once lost that way for two weeks...I still suffer PTSD from it.
Best Regards!& RTFM!

No more wandering in the wilderness for me since my phone has GPS. eventhough it once told me to make a left turn....into an Almond grove.

I use Live view to take pic a lot
that is very useful for event photography where you need high angle or low angle shot
actually the only benefit of mirroless camera for me is that fast LV focus.
I used friend panasonic g2..use LV to take pic is a pleasure

Definitely times when its useful and definitely badly implemented on the k5. I had the sony a55 before, the live view worked much much nicer, it was just the taking good photos part where it and I seemed to disagree so I raided some savings to swap it out, very happy .... but I think if live view were really important I'd not be happy with it. Hopefully an area where Pentax can improve our firmware, since there are occasions where its useful.
