K5 + Yongnuo YN560II - Wireless Slave (?)

Hi All,

Since 4 days I'm a proud owner of a Pentax K5. I want to use my Yongnuo YN560II as a Wireless (optical) Slave. Now, I don't get my K5 and speedlite working with each other. With my build-in flash popped up in Wireless mode; wireless flash settings on and Yongnuo on S1 or S2. Nothing works!

The YN560 does pop though. But to late or to early. Making a photo of the speedlight makes it pop but on the photo the speedlight is of. Who knows what to do??

Thanks!!

It should work fine in S2 mode. Can you set it to S2 and take a photo of the flash with it pointed at the camera to see if its syncing?

S1 mode won't sync with the pop-up flash because the pre-flash will trigger it. Same goes for M mode. S2 mode ignores the pre-flash by waiting a moment and then firing.

Try taking the pop-up flash out of wireless mode, just use regular flash. That is supposed to control p-ttl flashes, and the YN560ii is not p-ttl capable. You can set it to -3 EV in the flash menu so that its 3 stops under ambient and shouldn't make much different to the exposure.

Still no results.... I've putted my flash in -2 EV. I don't have -3 but I don't think that is making much of a difference..

Ok got the answere! For people with the same problem:

Put the flash in S2 mode. Turn of the 'Wireless Flash' setting in custom menu. Use normal flash (no wireless flash) and it will work!
