I didn't realize what a disadvantage I had until I went to the local Train Museum today. I used the '31 the entire time while photographing large items in a small space, moving backwards to get the shot when my mind is telling me that I shouldn't have to with a 100% VF. I want FF and will buy two if it ever comes to fruition.

You'll still have to move/use the correct focal length lens for the subject, etc, whichever format you're shooting.

And what does the VF have to do with it?

I guess I'm missing the point(s) you're trying to make.

Even on full frame you might need a 24mm to get what you want, large objects in a small space are always a challenge. I've had to resort to using my 16mm fisheye and shooting carefully so the distortion isn't ugly, since it isn't very fishy on APS-C it isn't that hard to do.

If you have the money, a DA14 might be a good buy for you.

You're just using the wrong lens for the occasion

You should realize that you are using the wrong focal length being a old school Pentaxian and all right??

If you need wider and can't move back, you can use a wider lens or do a photo stitch (eg. Hugin does a god job and is free).

There's not much my Sigma 10-20 wouldn't fit into the frame in your situation with APS-C. No need for FF just to go wide.

You might also want to look into doing panoramas when confronted with tight spaces - they've been quite useful to me when I didn't have a UWA available. MS Image Composite Editor and/or Hugin are your friends.

I have a Tamron 17 3.5, but I was trying to stick it out with the Ltd & autofocus as the lighting was low throughout the building.

If I tried to shoot the same scene with my FF camera and a 50mm lens I would end up with the exact same problem..

Get a DA 15mm LTD then. Or a DA 12-24.

Probably cheaper to do that than to get a FF camera.

A given FL o is accurate. I plan on getting a 21 today and a 15 next month for the Reno Balloon show.
