K-5 & 64GB Card.

I just bought the card, but haven't used it yet. How does it compare to Sandisk and can the camera accept a 123GB?

Yes, the K-5 can use 128 GB SDXC cards. Regarding now the card compares- it depends on the speed rating of your card.

What brand? Which SanDisk?

64 GB and 128 GB cards are SDXC. The K-5 has to be running firmware 1.02 or higher.

There have been some problems with SDXC cards with firmware versions older than 1.13. Make sure your K-5 is running the latest firmware.

I've made a choice to stay away from the extremely large SD cards because I've had SD cards go bad in the past. Smaller cards mean that if one goes bad then you have lost fewer shots. The largest cards I currently run are SanDisk Class 10 16gb cards.

Here are the links to the v1.13 firmware for the K-5:

I have a Patriot EP Series Class 10. If I get a Sandisk, I'll go for the top model.

The speeds the cards can do indicate that the K-5 can not take advantage of anything above the SanDisk Class 10 Extreme that is rated at 30mb/s. Anything "faster" typically comes at a premium and is a waste for the K-5. If you have another application for it that can use the higher rated speeds fine but otherwise why not just get the SanDisk Class 10 Extreme?
