This Camera Never Ceases To Amaze Me....

This Camera (the K-5) never ceases to amaze me, I always have it on me and it always has my newly acquired 18-135 lens on it and it is always at the ready. Last Friday we bought a new Jeep Wrangler and we were out driving it around and just enjoying the cruse through the country side today, when all of a sudden ,my wife noticed a hawk sitting on a fence post. I told her to turn around because I had my camera in the center console, when we came back around we noticed that it had taken off and was flying across the road but it landed on a fence. I had my camera on and aimed at the bird, and fully zoomed in, I would say I really nailed it this time, I only had a split second to make this shot because it took off right when it noticed us there-

It didn't take much P&P in light room but here is the original size-

Ya I had to crop it quite a bit but I am very impressed at the result.

Nice shot. Nicely cropped too.

I bought the 18-135 lens recently. Great walk-around lens. Better than the professional reviews as it does well on the K5.

Thanks, it really surprised the heck out of me when I loaded it up on my computer, I have NEVER gotten a shot this good of a hawk even when I had time to set up the shot. This was taken at 400 ISO and on Program setting, I wish I got it at 80 ISO but this camera renders colors and DR really well at 400. Lightroom really helps too.
I am starting to practice taking shots at a moments notice and with a few seconds to take the shot. with time I should get better.

Awesome shot, I dream of an opportunity like that with my lil-Bigma. As for the 18-135, very impressed. I just got to use mine this weekend and liked the results as well (and a surprise shower tested it's WR=success). Keep the Jeep unzipped and enjoy.
